Lincoln! (A Great Pyrenees)
Lincoln lived his life on a chain in the sweltering heat until an angel found him and brought him to safety. He is now free from the slavery of that chain, and he's running and playing with his buddies, living each day to the fullest! He's a happy and vibrant boy that enjoys the company of all types of animals, as well as humans. Lincoln's coat was shaved prior to coming into rescue, but it's growing back nicely, and he'll have the thick, gorgeous and full coat before long, true to the Great Pyrenees. Lincoln is a very well behaved boy and does quite well in the house and car. He loves to socialize and is a friend to everyone he meets. He enjoys romping around the yard, going for rides, and even enjoys the veterinarian! He's just such a well rounded boy that we can't say enough good things about him. We just can't imagine him living life on a chain...thank goodness that's come to an end! He's just too kind and loving of a boy not to be receiving mounds of love in a nice house with a cozy bed to lie on. Lincoln will need a securely fenced yard and to be walked on a leash when not in the fence due to his breed and their strong desire to roam. He would love a female canine companion to play and wrestle around with in the yard, or even snuggle up with inside. Most of all, he'd love a human companion that would show him unconditional love and devotion, allowing him to forget his past and live his life to the fullest. If you'd like to learn more about this happy and loving boy, just let us know! Just a warning...his charm will melt your heart!
(A Brin-dobe!)
Meet Shelby, an 80lb, stunning brindle Doberman mix. This incredibly gorgeous girl is as sweet as her photos display. She's incredibly endearing, and you can't help but smile when you're around her, instantly falling head over heels in love. Shelby's owner passed away, and as a result, sadly found herself at the pound. We saw that fantastic smile of hers and it was love at first sight. Hook, line and sinker...then she came into rescue. Shelby is a very well behaved girl with great indoor manners. She is crate trained, house trained, and rides well in a car. She also loves to gallivant outdoors and chase her favorite buddies around the yard, playing hard and loving every minute of it. When it snowed, she was thrilled! She also loves to play fetch and retrieve, and would make a good companion for someone who is athletic and active. After playing, however, she likes to come inside and either lie down beside you or plop onto her favorite soft spot. She relishes a soft cozy bed! Currently her favorite spot is lying on the recliner with her head resting on the arm of the chair (giving a look that says "I am soooooo sweet!"). Shelby loves everyone she meets, and at her last veterinary visit she fell in love with a little girl in the waiting room. Her tail wagged constantly! She is such a social butterfly and loves to go on outings where she can play and meet people. She slaps on her "perm-a-grin" and thrives on the joys in life. She makes sure you enjoy your adventures, too, by looking utterly irresistible and making you proud to have her by your side. Shelby's only vice is that she does not do well with other females. As a result, she'll do best in a home with a male dog (and she'd LOVE to have a play buddy!) or by herself. She is fine with cats, but she can sometimes play too hard with them, so she'd need to be supervised around them. She will need a fenced yard so that she can run and play without worry, as she tends to run away from you without the fence. As a result, she will need to be on a leash at all times when not in a fenced area. Shelby will be available for adoption in mid September, 2010 after completing her heartworm treatment. This is one girl that has stolen the hearts of many, and her foster family absolutely adores her. She has so much love in her heart, gives soft gentle kisses, snuggles superbly, and has such a fantastic outlook on life that you cannot help but be smitten with her. Shelby is one girl that you can't resist! We know that we'll sure miss her when she's gone, but we are excited at the prospect of her finding her forever family and never being alone again. If you would like to meet this wonderful girl, be sure to let us know!
