Miss Alli

Bonnibelle is a year old, darling beagle that thankfully found her way to the local shelter and into the arms of people who wanted her safe and well. In return, she found her way into our rescue.

Bonnibelle was extremely ill and in dire need of medical care, as you can see in her photographs, and only 12lbs thin. She was covered in demodectic mange, yeast, several types of bacteria which resulted in a terrible infection, and had an abundance of open wounds that continued to bleed. She was weak and scared, but she was sweet, frightened and amazingly trusting, still finding it in her to snuggle.

Bonnibelle traveled down the road of healing and turned into the beautiful girl that we always knew she was deep down underneath the illness. Although still initially shy of people, she has learned that people aren't always cruel and that she doesn't have to be afraid. In addition she's learned some independence and that she doesn't have to cling to her humans. Despite being fearful of people at first, she wanted her foster mom in sight so she'd know that she was safe and protected. We've worked with her on this separation anxiety so that she can feel comfortable and rid her fears, and she's done much, much better. While she hasn't completely conquered these fears yet, ultimately, we know she can live a harmonious life of joy, freedom and comfort without the fear of people or of being alone...she's come so far that we're certain it's possible with the right forever family.

Bonnibelle truly loves and thrives on the companionship of other animals, but would need a brother or sister in her forever family that will understand her youthful energy and desire to play. Despite her small frame, she currently would not work in an apartment setting because of her separation anxiety and loud barking.

Today Bonnibelle is happy, energetic, affectionate and lively. She loves to run and play in the backyard, wrestle and torment her bigger foster brothers and sisters, and lead the chase with all of the dogs following behind her. She always wears a smile and is sassy, bright and cheerful. She has conquered many milestones in the short while she's been in rescue, and we couldn't be more proud of her.

Bonnibelle has obviously been through a tremendous amount of trauma and heartache in her life, and we aim to find her a forever family that will be devoted to being kind, caring and committed to her for a lifetime. In the end, we know that she will make someone a spectacular best friend.
